Al-Mizhar American Academy (AAM) , a Taaleem School, offers students the same elite education that is offered at top American private schools and prepares its students for a multitude of universities worldwide. Today, more than ever, preparing students for university involves more than just pen and paper. Community service is another vital part of AAM's unique environment. We offer students a range of options for undertaking charity work, from initiatives within the school where older students read with younger ones; to volunteering locally with orphanages and organizations, such as Red Crescent; to international efforts, including volunteering in developing nations, such as Malaysia and Tanzania.

We will be introducing a sibling discount of 10% on tuition fees for the third (youngest) and subsequent child in each family for the 2017-18 academic year attending any Taaleem school in Dubai. Books are given on loan basis. Students are to return the books at the end of the term or academic year.

For registration and as confirmation of your intent to reserve this place, a non-refundable deposit of
AED 7,000 is requested which will be adjusted against Semester 1 tuition fees. This payment should 
be paid to our Accounts Department within 10 days of the acceptance letter.

Payment Options

Payments can be made by cash, credit card, bank transfer or check.

Applying to Al-Mizhar American Academy is a simple three-step process.

Step One: Please complete our Online Application Form. All applications are digital. We have no paper applications. Once we are in receipt of your online application, you will receive an email sent to the email address you have entered on the application. This email will direct you to Step Two.

Step Two: The email from Al-Mizhar American Academy will provide a list of required documents and how to contact our Admissions Team to make an appointment for assessment and payment of a one-time non-refundable and non-transferable Application Fee.
All students applying to Al-Mizhar American Academy are required to be assessed, regardless of age, grade, school or country they are from.

Please be prepared to submit the following documents when attending your assessment appointment:
a. Four recent passport-sized photos of the child/children
b. A copy of child’s/children's passport and residence visa (residence visa to be submitted as soon as available)
c. One copy of each parents’/guardians’ passports and residence visas (residence visa to be submitted as soon as available)
d. One copy of each side of child’s/children's and parents'/guardians' Emirates ID (to be submitted as soon as available)
e. Recent medical record and copy of child's/children's vaccination card. Please download and complete the Medical Form
f. Copy of most recent school report (eg. most recent report card), on school’s letterhead, signed and stamped
g. A letter of recommendation from the current school if applying for Grade 9 to 12
h. AED 500 Application Fee – A placement assessment will not be undertaken until the application fee is received.
Please either scan the required documents and email them to, or drop them off at the school’s Admissions Office, including the one-time non-refundable non-transferable Application Fee.

Step Three: We will contact you with a date for your child’s placement assessment, which will be administered by the Admissions Office and Al-Mizhar American Academy faculty. The students will be assessed on their English and Math skills. Pre-KG and KG students are observed while they partake in activities and interact with other children. Please note that it is a requirement that Pre-KG and KG students are fully toilet trained.

After assessment and upon receiving an acceptance letter, a deposit fee is required to reserve your seat. A seat cannot be held until the deposit payment is received. We will advise of the amount in the acceptance letter.

Acceptance to Al-Mizhar American Academy is contingent upon the results of the placement assessment, student interview and former school reports.
