For more than 25 years, Regent International School has been promoting all-round moral, cultural, mental and physical development of all our students and preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. Regent is part of the Fortes Education family, a leading provider of education for more than two decades.
From the Early Years Foundation Stage to Year 6, we follow the National Curriculum for England and Wales but what really defines us is our School Curriculum, which is a unique, focal point of our school provision; learning is relevant, immersive and teaches the children how to be effective thinkers by explicitly offering thinking tools and strategies within the classroom.
We are a Positive Education School and we promote Philosophy for Children which gives pupils a climate for effective dialogue and exploratory talk and in turn raises standards and nurtures emotional intelligence. Students graduating from Regent receive automatic entry to RIS’ affiliate, Sunmarke School, located five minutes away from RIS.
Having developed its reputation for high quality holistic education over two decades, Regent offers the highest standards of pastoral care to more than 1000 students aged 3-11, representing over 85 different nationalities. We have a pedagogy which defines us as a school and that brings our educational philosophy clear to the minds of parents, students and teachers.
Students engage in child-initiated learning which evolves into elements of choice in the Primary years. We expect students to drive their own learning and to solve problems through the explicit teaching of Thinking Skills and exposure to a range of thinking tools.
Language, enquiry and critical thinking are woven into all aspects of the Curriculum through the implementation of Philosophy for Children. This helps the students with their onward transition to Secondary and later in choosing the right pathway which could be IB, GCSE, A Level or BTEC.
Our unique values in Action Curriculum is taught and the learning affirmed throughout school life both inside and outside of the classroom. These approaches enable high levels of academic progress alongside emotional intelligence which results in the belief that “Academics and Achievement+ Character and Wellbeing” will allow students to flourish.
